The official source states: Public Holidays Act s.3: 'when any public holiday shall fall on a Sunday the following day shall be observed and kept as a public holiday.' The Act has no Saturday rule, but the Cabinet Office's 2026 list moved the Saturday holidays (Majority Rule Day, Boxing Day) to the following Monday. In 2026 this applies to Majority Rule Day (10 January 2026, observed 12 January 2026), Boxing Day (26 December 2026, observed 28 December 2026).
Yes. Each year on this page has an Add to calendar button that builds an .ics file in your browser with every holiday as an all-day event, so it imports into Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar. Nothing is sent to our servers.
That is set by the labour law and your contract, not by the holiday list. A common set-up is a paid day off, with a premium or a day in lieu when you work the holiday. Our public holiday pay guide explains the usual arrangements with worked examples; confirm the rule for your workplace with the labour department or payroll.
Free to use, works in your browser, nothing is sent to our servers. Figures are for guidance only: pay rules are set by each country's law and by your contract, so check anything that matters with your labour department or payroll.
PunchClock keeps the The Bahamas holiday calendar up to date and pays the holiday rate automatically when someone clocks in on one of these days.
